APIC was started as EAPIC(East Asia Petrochemical Industry Conference) in 1979, and this year will mark the 42nd anniversary. EAPIC was established by major Asian petrochemical industries in KPIA(Korea Petrochemical Industry Association), JPCA(Japan Petrochemical Industry Association), and PIAT(Petrochemical Industry Association of Taiwan) in order to share information, build cooperation, and pursue the development of petrochemical industry in Asia. As more nations wanted to participate in the conference, EAPIC extended its membership to 7 countries including Malaysia, Thailand, Singapore and India. As a result, EAPIC changed its name to Asia Petrochemical Industry Conference(APIC).

By contributing to the progressive growth of the industry in recent years, APIC has developed to become one of the most renowned conferences in petrochemical industry. APIC has been an effective avenue of facilitating valuable exchange of information and an excellent business networking platform which draws more than 1,500 delegates worldwide.
